DA LAT - THE CITY OF MUSIC
Da Lat City is preparing for events to celebrate 130 years of establishment and development with many meaningful activities, including building a profile to join The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). This is considered as an opportunity to promote the image of the land, culture, style and people of Da Lat to a large number of domestic and foreign friends.
Da Lat was selected as a music city, creating an important mark to support the development of various types of tourism services, increase the attractiveness, and position the tourism brand of Da Lat - Lam Dong. Besides, he goal is to constantly promote the values accumulated from the harmony between nature, architectural heritage and people with the style of Tranquility - Elegance - Hospitality. At the beginning of 2021, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee worked with Mr. Michael Croft - Chief Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam, to introduce the potentials, comparative advantages and heritage values of Da Lat recognized by UNESCO. He also highly appreciates the favorable conditions of Da Lat that are inherent in the criteria of a creative city, especially in the fields of film and music.
This city of four seasons of flowers is also an ideal place to inspire the compositions of many singers, musicians, writers, poets, etc. It would not be an exaggeration to consider Da Lat as one of the cities with the most songs to praise and introduce about this place (about 300 songs).
All songs have deep meanings, each song shows a unique corner of Da Lat that we can feel when listening to and that feature cannot be confused with anywhere else. Currently, the music space in Da Lat is extremely diverse with different genres (traditional, contemporary, classical, etc.) as well as forms of performance (street, outdoor stage, big theater, etc.) presented by domestic and international artists, creating a dynamic, bustling, and energetic atmosphere in Da Lat.
In recent years, Da Lat has had practical activities for its own music space, and event companies have always organized novel programs to attract tourists. The most successful project is "May Lang Thang", held at an outdoor stage with a professional live orchestra and famous artists performing on the hillside, a typical space of Da Lat.
